A REVIEW OF THE 2010 SHOW...2011 SHOW OVERVIEW COMING SOON
We are delighted to present this year’s Maine Home, Remodeling and Garden Show at the Cumberland County Civic Center, where it was born two decades ago. The doors will open at 10:00 am on Saturday and Sunday, February 6 & 7, 2010. Our winter show is full of inspirational ideas for the home and garden. This year we are putting a special emphasis on updating and remodeling in today’s new eco-friendly world, all designed to help consumers make informed decisions about their homes and gardens.

Exhibitors!
There are over 170 exhibitor booths at this year’s show offering consumers the opportunity to see the latest products and services on the market. Meet the Chefs!
Returning again this year is the popular Meet the Chefs cooking series, taking place in our Viking Kitchen Studio, created by Castle Kitchens of Scarborough, Maine. Castle Kitchens has created yet another dynamic kitchen studio for our Meet the Chefs cooking series. Through special arrangements with Vic’s Appliances from Saco our kitchen area is equipped with the latest in Viking appliances, cookware and cutlery.
The 6th Annual Meet the Chefs series is hosted by Candace Karu, Cabot Creamery's Consumer Lifestyle Commentator. Candace, a nationally recognized writer and speaker, covers food, fitness, wellness, and lifestyle issues for the farm family owners of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative (www.cabotcheese.coop). We are delighted to welcome Candace to our studio kitchen as the emcee of this year's exciting Meet the Chefs cooking series.
This year we are pleased to announce we have added Mary Ann Esposito, the creator and host of the PBS series, Ciao Italia, television’s longest running cooking show, to our long list of fine chefs. As Esquire Magazine Food Critic, John Mariani recently said when describing her as one of the finest chefs on television, “Mary Ann Esposito, now in her eighteenth season, is the Italian mama you always wished you had. Sweet, accessible, and intolerant of shortcuts or substitutions, Mary Ann truly wants to make you happy. You can almost feel her take your hand, push it into the pasta dough, and roll it as her ancestors have for centuries.”
This year features one of our biggest line-ups ever of amazing chefs, including the return of Chef Harding Smith, owner/chef of the Front Room Restaurant & Bar, The Grill Room & Bar and his newest restaurant, The Corner Room Kitchen & Bar in Portland. Also returning this year is Chef Margaret Salt McLellan, Maine Lobster Chef of the Year 2008 – Chef Cheryl Lewis of El Rayo Taqueria in Portland.
Notable first time participants include: Chef Tyne Sansom of Bath’s Solo Bistro – Chef Neil Connolly, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, Whitefield, NH -- Pastry Chef Cedric Beguin, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, Whitefield, NH –– Chef Vito Marcello, Bellini’s Restaurante Italiono, North Conway, NH – Candace Karu, Consumer Lifestyle Commentator for Cabot Creamery – Chef and Cookbook Author Kate Krukowski Gooding – Bartender Guy Streitburger, Cinque Terre & Vignola Restaurants with Cold River Vodka.

Raffle to Benefit Habitat For Humanity!
Our thanks to those who generously donated great prizes to this cause. Our featured prize is a 16” x 20” original watercolor painting “Great Blue” donated by Freeport artist Joseph Cousins. His work is included in many corporate and private collections in the U.S. and abroad as well in several galleries throughout Maine and New England. Our thanks to both Joe and Linda Cousins for their continued work and great efforts on this valuable raffle. We are pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause!

Meredith has distinguished herself as one of the most dynamic representatives Mrs. Maine America has ever had. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to meet this inspiring woman.

Seminars and Clinics will be held throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, including topics such as: Color Trends for 2010 – What to Look For When Hiring a Contractor – Make Your Existing Home Super Energy Efficient and Murphy Beds are in Again!
Steve Fennell from the Saco Solar Store will be talking about “Solar Options”….an introduction to renewable energy systems that save you money; also scheduled will be Ken Beesley from Sunrise Homes talking about “What to Look For When Hiring a Contractor”…seven simple questions every homeowner should ask before hiring a contractor.
The Home Depot will run clinics both days of the show. This year, The Home Depot experts will talk about “Wind Turbines & Solar…What’s Right for You”

The 2010 Maine Home, Remodeling and Garden Show is at the Cumberland County Civic Center from 10-6 on Saturday, February 6 and 10-5 on Sunday, February 7. Admission is $8.00 for Adults and $6.00 for Seniors (over 65). Youth Rate 6 to 16 $5.00 and Children under 6 are always free.
