Good Friends, Good Beer, Good Wine, Good Times is proudly displayed on the wall of The Good Beer Store and that is how this little store came to fruition in the spring of 2011. We pride ourselves in providing a beautiful atmosphere, great energy and amazing customer service. As you walk into our store you know you are not in just any store. People have been known to walk in smile, and say “wow, this really IS The Good Beer Store” or “am I in Heaven?” This is what makes it really worthwhile.
Kevin and Ruth Antonucci opened The Good Beer Store with approximately 300 craft, Belgian and Specialty beers and 75 wines. As of today we are proud to say that this number has risen to over 900 beers and close to 300 different wines. These selections are forever changing, as the craft beer and wine world changes daily our selection must keep up with the new craft beers in order to satisfy our customer base. You will not find a store of this magnitude within 50 miles of the valley.
We rate 95 (world class) on Beer Advocate, and have numerous 5 star reviews on Yelp and Rate Beer. The Good Beer Store holds monthly beer and wine tastings to educate our customers and to allow them to try new that they might not have picked out for themselves. We also have a singles cooler, and allow our customers to break down anything on the shelves for them to try just one! If we do not have something and it is available we will get it for you usually with a few days. Kegs are also available upon request.
The Good Beer Store has also added home brew supplies to the mix. Because of his past success in brewing beer Kevin has joined forces with a good friend and renowned home brewer in his own right to form the new and upcoming local nano brewery called Saco River Brewing Company will be coming to Fryeburg in the spring of 2015!

100 Years & Still Cooking
Nestled alongside the Cumberland Plateau of the Appalachian Mountains is the small town of South Pittsburg, Tennessee (population 3,330). In 1896 Joseph Lodge created a legacy of quality that has thrived through two world wars, the Great Depression, and the introduction of numerous forms of cookware. His family maintains Joseph’s legacy, with our CEO and President – great-grandsons – who continue to evolve our product line and improve manufacturing methods in the town we’ve called home for over a century!
Through the years, many worthy competitors have disappeared from the market. By maintaining our dedication to quality, technology and employees, Lodge not only survives, it flourishes.
In 1950, Lodge converted our foundry from a hand-pour operation to an automated pouring process to keep up with demand. Lodge expanded our modernization in 1992, replacing our coal-fired cupola furnaces with an electromagnetic induction melting system, earning a Tennessee Governor’s Award for Excellence in Hazardous Waste Reduction.
Lodge reinvented cast iron with the introduction of foundry-seasoned cookware in 2002. An industry first, foundry seasoning propelled the cast iron cookware category from 4% of the cookware marketplace at the turn of the new century to 15% today.
With increasing consumer demand, Lodge broadened our variety of cookware by importing vibrant Porcelain Enameled Cast Iron from China. Produced to our strict production guidelines, the colorful assortment continues to receive positive reviews from Good Housekeeping, Fine Cooking, test kitchens and our valued customers.
Stretching our presence to new cookware categories, in 2011 Lodge introduced the Seasoned Carbon Steel cookware. The new product continues to garner rave reviews, with Bon Appetit magazine listing Lodge Seasoned Steel “A Kitchen Essential.”
In late 2014, Lodge completed the first phase of the largest foundry expansion in our company’s history. The expansion includes a new melt system, an additional pouring/molding line and most importantly –new American jobs!
Our humble origins took root during the William McKinley presidential administration. In the years since, we’ve maintained an enviable pace of innovation, quality and customer satisfaction that leaves little doubt Lodge Manufacturing Company is the world leader for seasoned cast iron cookware.
