You may be a master of gift giving or party planning…which I envy but for the majority of us this time of year is a struggle. Not only do you have to budget for the expenses that come with the Holiday Season but figuring out what to buy your loved ones can be stressful and frustrating. We want it to be fun! So, in this article you will find links to different small businesses around the New England area, articles with great tips and delicious holiday recipes.

Lets start with food…it’s my favorite.

This is a link to the 2014 Yankee Magazine’s Editors Choice Food Awards…www.yankeemagazine.com/article/food-awards/2014-yankee-food-awards. Here you can find some of the best cheese makers in New England (you have to have cheese during the holidays) along with jams, sauces, seasonings, beverages and more!

pizzaHere is a link to one of our personal favorites…Lion’s Mane Mushroom Bake. We love New Hampshire Mushroom Company and this bake is to die for! It makes for a great (and unique) holiday party dish that everyone is bound to love…take my word for it, i’m not a mushroom lover but I love this bake.

We know just the place to find some of the best olive oils and balsamic vinegars that will make wonderful holiday presents. FIORE Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars features Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Aged Balsamic Vinegars. There roots are firmly planted in tradition, FIORE Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars has forged a new image of the modern artisan. FIORE features in-store tasting rooms offering a wide selection of Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil from around the worldFiore-__Color_Logo.jpg and Aged Balsamic Vinegar from Modena, Italy. FIORE has 6 locations in Maine with an online store for anyone too far away…

A local and delicious place to pick up that box of chocolate or maple product for one of the many Holiday parties you will be attending is The Bavarian Chocolate Haus. Yum!

Let’s end the food segment with possibly the most outrageous dessert…ever. I just came across a food network video featuring a cake made with 3 pies! I know, sounds crazy but check it out for yourself ( here ).

3-going-shopping-againNow for those helpful holiday shopping suggestions 🙂

As you start to shop for all members of your family, your close friends and who ever else you have on your list check out some of our amazing exhibitors from 2014. Here are two unique companies that will surely be different from all other holiday presents they receive… Muddy Mary’s Bloody Mary Mud  and The Salt Cellar. The Salt Cellar has amazing salt blocks for preparing and cooking food, seasonings and a full line of face and body products.

Do any of your loved ones need a cooking lesson? Maybe they want to learn a new skill or you want to take all your girlfriends for a night out, Taste of the Mountains Cooking School at The Bernerhof Inn in Glen, NH is a fantastic place to go. We love the Chefs!

How about that WOW factor gift…if you’re looking to out do yourself here are a few suggestions. A Vitamix, everyone wants one! A new piece of furniture or a gift certificate to help that one person moving into a new place… both Top Furniture in Gorham, NH and Big Bear Chair are awesome.

Lastly, if you live in the Northeast you probably have a skier, snowboarder, snowshoer, cross country skier, etc. in your family and they are all gearing up for the season. Stop into Stan and Dan Sports in North Conway, NH for the best deals on racing gear or Ski Works in West Ossipee, NH for gear, snowboard equipment and more!

Happy Holidays, Everyone!
